This week was a hard week for us, probably the hardest we've had in your short life. I came down with mastitis - if you don't know what that is - be glad, very glad if you are a woman. Long story short it's an infection in the breast that you can get when breastfeeding sometimes. I've never had it before and I hope I never have it again. Thank goodness again for Mamas - Meme came and spent the entire week with us and she is the ONLY reason we survived. Thank you Mama!!
So here are some great things you have been up to in your 12th week of life:
- colic - we detest it - we're all hoping we're at the end of this battle. It has been a big battle and we imagine you are just as ready as we are to say good-bye to it! This week you've had 3 or so good days - the rest, not so good.
- you love your Meme! Meme certainly has a way with you and you enjoy her company and girl talk :)
- napping - you did decent this week - sleeping in your bed for almost all of your naps most days and only in the swing if you woke up early.
- night time sleeping - you took a few steps back - you're average this week is 6 hours - you've decided you like 4:00 a.m. for some reason! However you do have a few 7 and 8 hour stretches this week - we're hoping it was because we were all off routine with me being sick. Here's to you going back to your 8-10 hours a night real soon!
- we've moved the boppy out of your bed - you're now sleeping on your back in your positioner. We'll see if that makes any difference.
- you are on the move - you're thinking hard about rolling over - to your right side - but you haven't yet. You can spin yourself around in a complete circle using your feet and pushing on your play mat.
- your vocabulary is increasing - lots of ohhing, cooing and ahhing.
- you smile much more and sometimes ear to ear - we all squeal in delight when you do!
- you are still super sensitive to loud sounds and anything that startles you.
- you are sucking on your hand with more skill these days - close to finding a finger or a thumb.
- still eating anywhere from 5-7 times a day.
- in size 1 diapers and newborn clothes - some 0/3 months work for you and some are way too big.
- your head control is impressive ... you can pop it up when you're on your tummy just like a turtle and look around :)
Oh how you love your Meme and she loves you!!

Sweet girl, we'll be saying the scripture below a lot this week - you and I will be just fine and God will guide us ... transition is never easy, but I know you will grow to love your new teacher and little friends at school - a classroom full of little boys is waiting for their token girl to arrive! And we know you'll have them charmed in no time. It's always hard for us Mommys to let go and move to the next step (or at least it is for me!), but we know God has great plans for you and we're ready to watch them unfold! We love you dearly precious child!

Thinking about you tonight -- hope you're both flying high from your day!!
