It must be Santa .....

I'm not sure if I have told y'all my infamous story about taking the girls to meet Santa Claus last year (2013) and completely messing up the dates.  We rushed all the way to Alabaster (read: 40 minute drive) after school one Friday to meet Santa and have cookies and milk with him while a photographer snapped photos.  We got there all excited and ready to go and there was no one there.  I had gotten the days mixed up.  Way to go Mom.  The girls were devastated.  Ugh.

We managed to track down another Santa later that weekend during the Alex City open houses - thank goodness.  We even saw Cindy Lou and the Grinch - which made up for my earlier mix up. The back story matters because this year I got the date right.  And since I was traveling in Boston for work, David was in charge and of course, pulled it off without a hitch.  Love that man.

Finally - the girls had one-on-one time with Santa and some yummy cookies.  One of my good friends from high school signed up for the same afternoon so the girls had some sweet friends to play with and Michelle did their hair (David can do everything except the hair!).  Thank you Michelle!

The girls had a blast.  They are typically hams for the camera and they didn't disappoint this time.  I adore these pics!  In true Caroline fashion, she was a bit difficult.  She didn't get her nap out that day and was not interested in Santa, though it's always been Catherine Ellis that would have NOTHING to do with the man.

You can tell during story time she was curious, but as soon as it came time to sit on his lap, she was apprehensive. She stalled and had to be coerced, coaxed and bribed, but she finally gave in!  My favorite picture out of the whole bunch, the one that captures their personalities perfectly, is the picture below. How hysterical is this?

We got a few cute ones of her on his knee after she made her point.  She keeps us on our toes and keeps Catherine Ellis cackling.  Never a dull moment with these two cuties!
